Magical Lighting Effects: Designed by Light

If you came to The DecorCafe Home & Garden Festival at Strawberry Hill House last year you may have seen the lighting range created by new contemporary lighting company, Designed by Light.  Founded by Putney based lighting designer Sian Baxter, Designed by Light have a small team of lighting designers, that specialise in creating magical lighting effects that transform the area they illuminate.

These lights are from the Gina and Rita ranges. Designed to work in both traditional and contemporary environments they bring each space alive with patterned light. The standard colourways are brass, white or black but they can be powder coated in any colour to suit your interior scheme.

Your choice of bulb will effect the pattern of light, giving you the flexibility to change the look and atmosphere you create. If you just love the look of the pendant but don’t want the surface pattern in your room, choose a frosted bulb and it will remove it completely.

They look fabulous hung  individually or in a group depending on the effect that you would like to create. Here, the Rita 150 pendant light has been hung in a cluster in a contemporary stairwell to create impact without dominating the space. Adding an elegant touch to the clean architectural lines, they blend with the surroundings when unlit and create a wonderful atmosphere when they come alive at night. Unlike the Gina design, the Rita pendant is left open at the base.

Here, the Rita 400 is hung above a kitchen table to draw attention the the space and casting a gentle pattern around the surfaces of the kitchen without distracting from the simplicity of the interior scheme.
