Nutrition for Children (Adult workshop) 24th May (Putney)

Join nutrition expert May Simpkin who will explain the underlying nutritional needs and requirements of children at the key different stages in their growth and development, from early school age to teenage years and young adults.

May will demonstrate some delicious recipes that are not only simple and easy to replicate at home, but of course packed with essential nutrients that will keep your children healthy, energized and invigorated! She will specifically focus on new ideas for nutritional energy boosters (post school, pre/post sport.) You will be tasting all of the demonstration recipes and will be given the recipes to take home.

It will be an interactive learning experience that will inspire and help you to take some key steps towards a healthier lifestyle for your children.

Includes talk, demos, recipes to take home and a light lunch.

Date: Tuesday 24th May. 9.30 am to  12.00 followed by lunch. We anticipate finishing at 1pm.

Run by expert curtian maker Vikki Hart, at this curtain making workshop you will build your skills and learn tips and techniques to enable you to create your own curtains for your home. You will learn all about:

  • measuring
  • fabric calculations
  • cutting
  • lining
  • interlining
  • hems & headings

You will discover a range of different headings and curtain styles to choose from and have the opportunity to try pencil pleat and double-pleat headings for yourself and make a headed, hemed, lined and inter-lined sample to take home and refer to as a reminder and reference point for the techniques you learnt on this course.

Bread Making Classes East Sheen

DecorCafe member, Juli Farkas, of East Sheen Microbakery, Our Bread, runs small friendly bread making classes in her kitchen.

You will have fun baking some white or wholemeal loaves, a rye bread, rolls, sodabread and focaccia to take home, and sample the fresh bread over a meal and have a chance to chat.

A detailed set of notes are provided, so that you can get great results at home straight away.
