Auntie Planty is a chartered horticulturist who offers a unique garden mentoring and plant problem-solving service, at your elbow and in your own garden. Call her your garden coach/tutor, plant agony aunt or even your garden secret weapon – the results will be the same. Auntie Planty’s mission is to help you create a wonderful garden without breaking the bank so you can garden with confidence.

With a first degree BSc (Hons) in horticulture, and a number of additional qualifications from Dip Plants & Plantsmanship to a specialised course on trees Auntie Planty is extremely knowledgeable. She takes obvious pleasure in sharing her skills and provides no-nonsense, practical advice to help you to make more of your garden.

More About Auntie Planty

Aunty Planty has been solving plant and gardening problems for more than 20 years – in print for a number of UK’s leading national gardening magazines, online, on the radio and now in person in your own garden. She has put together a collection of bite-size services to give you just the help you need.

  • Action Plan: If you have a problem or question about your garden Auntie Planty will offer you helpful advice. She will help you to get sorted with an Action Plan to include, planting, pruning and watering recommendations.
  • Garden MOT: If your garden is looking a little bit under the weather she will carry out a garden health check and garden MOT.
  • Planting Plan: She will help you to choose the correct plants for the right place, by size, season, colour and soil conditions

With a background in media and broadcasting (she is a freelance broadcast journalist, contributing to television, radio and gardening websites) Valerie has also created her own series of helpul recordings to listen to on her own website or please do just email her to ask your own question.
