About Meanmagenta Photography

Paola De Giovanni’s mixed media artwork and photographic work focus on the strengths of simple things often overlooked in today’s fast-paced society. She uses her camera to document and preserve dramatic light, timeless beauty and fleeting moments of perfection, both in an urban environment and in nature. Paola specialises in architectural details, flower photography with a twist and environmental portraiture.

We love Meanmagenta Photography Because…

During the global epidemic, Paola taught herself the ancient ink painting technique called marbling and put together an impressive body of unique and colourful prints. Paola’s art and designs have always a strong focus on bold patterns and unique colour combinations and she believes it is essential to surround ourselves with functional, but also beautiful objects to transform a house into a welcoming cocoon.
Marbling has become also a form of active meditation: soothing, liberating and empowering. Once the prints are dry, Paola often digitally put into repeats the original artwork to create seamless and symmetrical patterns to suggest balance, reciprocity and elegance.
Her marbling artwork are available printed on cushions, (high quality cotton and velvet), lamp shades, bean bags, silk/velvet scarves, and also as limited editions of matt prints. Each print comes in various formats and with a Certificate of Authenticity, printed on matt Hahnemuhle paper, and archival inks to guarantee colour fastness, a unique artwork to treasure as a family heirloom or to give a special gift.

More About Meanmagenta Photography

Paola describes herself as “an inquisitive creative who has probably taken too many creative tangents, mainly because of her constant need to learn and experiment”. Photography is her first love and flower photography is her constant source of inspiration to develop textile designs for her home decor and soft furnishings collections. Another important source of design inspiration comes from her love for fashion history, which she studied in depth and lead to the successful completion of her MA in Fashion Studies at the London College of Fashion, University of The Arts.
Paola is available for bespoke orders and commissions.
