About Juliette Scott

Founder and owner of Juliette Scott Photography, Juliette Scott creates art with her camera and especially enjoys hand-finishing her printed images with gold or coloured metal leaf. She adopts varying photography techniques which include using a macro lens and a light pad, multiple exposure photography and intentional camera movement.

Living in the countryside and having grown up with a father who worked in horticulture, she inherited his passion for gardening.  Juliette loves to create images that reflect the beauty found in trees, leaves and flowers. She also enjoys making still life images of ‘collectibles’, and capturing the complex textures of her favourite European city, Venice.  Although her subject matters might sound traditional, she interprets them in an unusual way and thrives on exploring colours, textures and abstracted patterns.

We Love Juliette Scott Photography Because…

Juliette’s life has a centred around art and her ongoing fascination with colour. She has a degree in History of Art and worked for Bonhams Auction House and for The Art Loss Register in London. She relocated to Northumberland in the nineties and began learning about gilding, decoupage and paint finishes. For several years she used these techniques to enhance products and furniture which she sold through an interior design shop in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Juliette became increasingly interested in interior design and took a long distance diploma course with KLC School of Design. She set up her own interior design practice where she worked on both commercial and residential projects for 15 years.

More About Juliette Scott Photography

During the last few years Juliette has been working consistently on her photography and is thrilled to be able to concentrate on this rewarding art form. She loves the entire photography process, from making the image in camera, to carefully using digital post-processing skills, to finally embellishing her printed images. As well as using metal leaf on her printed images, she also offers a contemporary version of Verre Eglomisé; a nod to the ancient process of gilding precious metals on the reverse side of glass.

Her photographic artwork is available on her website and through various galleries. Juliette is delighted to have been part of several exhibitions and is always excited to see her photography displayed in people’s homes or in commercial settings.

Juliette welcomes working with interior designers on projects.
