About Linen Quarter ®
Linen Quarter sells quality bedding that is ethically made and sustainably sourced. Made from the finest natural organic cotton, founding partners, Gideon and Sara Cook, are committed to providing a luxury hotel look and feel in your own home at an affordable price. “One of the main reasons we founded Linen Quarter was that they missed their pre-child (and dog) days of being able to regularly stay away in luxury hotels.” says Sara. With limited childcare options, they wanted to recreate the decadence of a luxury hotel feel to bed linen in their home. They aspired to create products that are more environmentally and socially responsible, and which are priced at a much more affordable level than other high street and online retailers. Why not combine this passion for hotels, interiors and sustainability at an affordable price? Linen Quarter was born.
We love Linen Quarter® because…
When we first met Sara, she brought along samples from their bed linen range. We were incredibly impressed with her knowledge of the fabrics, the bedding industry (and the myths within it) and most importantly, the quality of the samples she brought across. We loved them and are pleased to support such a fantastic, local, good quality young business.
More about Linen Quarter…
Their organic cotton bed linen ranges are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified, meaning the supply chain can be traced from seed to fabric. Their bedding is also Oeko-Tex (Confidence in Textiles) certified, which provides additional reassurance that the fabric is free from harmful chemicals. To become GOTS certified, strict environmental and social criteria must be met. This gives full supply chain traceability, enabling the organic cotton to be traced from seed to fabric. GOTS goes further than sustainability though. Its social impact is immense. To be GOTS certified, social criteria based on the key norms of the ILO (International Labour Organisation) must be met by all processors and manufacturers. These cover minimum wages, working hours, conditions no child labour, no discrimination, as well as safe and hygienic working conditions. This aspect is important to us.
