This project was all about making the most of the space in a Pied-a-Terre in Battersea. Lorraine was asked to create a living space that contained a kitchen area, living area, office and entertainment zone in just one small room.

The client is a successful city banker who lives at his beautiful family home in Winchester most of the time. Here, he wanted to create a space that was a home from home on a miniature scale. A place where he could relax at the end of a long working day and enjoy the same level of style detail as his main home.

Lorraine started with space planning. She divided the room into three zones. At the far end she designed a complete bespoke kitchen and utility room hidden inside a cupboard along the back wall.

There is space for storage, fridge, dish-washer washing machine and even a pull out table and a couple off stools.

No expense was spared on the detailing, with beautiful aged brass splash-back, gold sink and tap and gorgeous marble work-surface integrated into the cabinetry.

At the other end, a bespoke media unit and storage space was created to include a drop-down desk that could be used to work when necessary but also be hidden away when finished.

Comfortable sofa chair and coffee table fitted easily into the space in the middle with natural light from the patio doors (planters yet to be added as shown here!)

Lorraine made maximum possible use of every inch of space, including the space above the door, where a book-shelf was added, for favourite books, which could be rotated from Adam’s main home.

From the choice of chevron flooring to, beautifully crafted joinery, a variety of fabrics and textures and carefully selected furniture, it is the carefully considered choices and quality of the detailing that creates this beautiful, individual design.

Lorraine transformed the space from a bland apartment into a lovely, home. You can see the difference in the before picture’s below.
